And she went east for treatment and she came back and she thought she was cured.

And in fact, Richard felt she was not cured.

So Karen and Richard met and Richard told Karen how he felt and what he was concerned about.

And of course, ten days later, she was no longer with us.

Because I knew she wasn't well. We had this meeting with her.

She was hot as hell at me for even questioning how she looked.

And I said, "It's only because I love you and I just plain don't think you look well.

Karen had come down from Century City on a Thursday afternoon to visit the folks.

Ten of eight the next morning, my mom, who was hysterical, on the phone, going on about Karen.

She's here, she's upstairs, she's down, she doesn't look well.

And I said, "I'm on my way."

And I run to the corner and tears filled my eyes because just right there it was pretty serious looking.

And apparently she was already in the ambulance.
