Today, magic is still practiced in one form or another,

overtly or covertly, throughout most of the world.

According to many authorities, there

are two very separate and distinct types of magic,

white magic or good magic, where the spirits conjured up

are themselves ostensibly good and are only

used by the sorcerer for good purposes,

and black magic, where through lewd and fantastic rites,

devils and demons are called upon to assist in evil doings.

Nevertheless, both types of magic

depend on communication and cooperation

with unholy and unscriptural spirits.

And in both cases, the laws of nature

are put at the mercy of the sorcerer.

After acquainting himself with the ancient rituals

and incantations, the sorcerer must equip himself

with the necessary ingredients for his spells.
