I am 36 years old and I live in Berlin.

Frau Golden, the court is very aware of the pain it must cause you to speak of your experiences

in the concentration camp run by the Nazis at Naugen.

Ask your questions. That is why I am here.

On October the 26th, 1943, you were taken to the concentration camp along with your sister, Rebecca.

Please tell the court what happened to your sister.

Rebecca was very beautiful. She was 20 years old.

The Nazis cut all the tendons and ligaments in her legs so that she was unable to walk.

Why did they do that?

She was trying to avoid the attentions of the tour camp's officers.

She ran away.

So the two officers got the idea.

Without the use of her legs, Rebecca could only crawl at their feet.

So from then on, all the men had to do was pick her up from the floor,

throw her on the bed, and use her.

Then they would throw her back down on the floor

and leave her there until one of them wants her again.

How did your sister die?

One day, she managed to drag herself to an oil truck.

She hid by the rear wheels and waited for the truck to go down the hill.

She was crushed like a worm.
