For crucifixion, you have two options.

In option one, you'll be roped by your wrists and ankles to the cross for a period of ten hours.

Ten hours is an extremely long time to hang in such a painful position.

In option two, you'll hang from the cross for only five hours,

but in addition to being roped by your wrists and ankles,

you'll be nailed to the cross through both hands.

The nailing is, of course, intensely painful,

but the punishment time is much shorter.
