Well, my brother was in prison a long time ago.

He was killed before his release date.

It was some gang thing he got involved with in the prison yard.

and he was stabbed.

Oh man, I'm sorry.

I've been angry at him for what he did to the family.

I was ashamed of him.

So I hadn't written to him once.

Or taken any of his phone calls.

And then he was gone.

I carried the guilt around with me for years.
