Philippe Max Brugia
is the custodian of historic wrecks
for the island of Bermuda.
And he thinks he's found
one of the key causes
of all of this area's destruction.
It's hard to believe on a day as calm as this
that this is one of the most treacherous places on Earth.
He manages the sites of over
300 shipwrecks around the island.

According to Philippe,
this area has been causing
problems for sailors since the very
first ships passed nearby.
Bermuda was put on charts
not as a country that anyone would have
moved to. In historical narratives,
there's actually stories of ships finding themselves
stuck in these large maps
and becaused of days and weeks at a time.
