The crew were batted at the highest level and were not told the true nature of our mission until we were on the way

All communication systems are locked out and only I have the access codes

But that wasn't enough

Indeed, it seems the enemy has somehow managed to get an operative on board

Either directly or by pure chance

We have no idea how far their infiltration goes

Even if we do manage to find a habitable world, what's stopping them from just finding us again?

Space, in case you didn't know, is big

And while we only have to travel in a straight line, the possible systems the enemy would have to search to find us increases exponentially the further we go

I get that, but even so, you would lose all species with it
